New Addition to my Family!

Well, I don't have any new knitting to post - - although I have been knitting baby blankets forever now! :) I am on my 11 for the past year!

But! I'd like to introduce you to my new baby and Cocoa's new bud! Her name is Darci, she is a scottish terrior and she is now 6 1/2 months old! She and Cocoa have a ball running all over the house playing and wrestling.
So, now that she 'almost' has the potty training down pat, I might be able to get back to some new cloth designs! :)
Until next time! God bless you all!

Self Fringing Shawl Done!

Well, here is the self fringing shawl that I've been working on! I just love it! I have several more in the queque to knit up. I used yarn from eBay store: The Spin Zone. And the pattern is from eBay store: Always Shopping For You (http://stores.ebay.com/Always-Shopping-For-You). I used size 19 circular needles and knit up to 44 stitches before the marker. If you get the pattern, you'll understand what I am saying. It is probably my favorite! The Spin Zone makes these wonderful blends of yarn which make this shawl just beautiful. It is just enough to chase the chill away, and perfect for a quick wrap over the head and around the neck when it's really cold outside. My next project is baby bibs. LOL I bought a pattern from Ravelry using short rows. I'll let you see how it comes out!

Peaches N Cream Premium

New colors from left to right: Dk. Purple Ombre, Pansy, and Spice.

I absolutely LOVE these new colors! They are so vibrant. Of course, I have to say that I listed them in order of my personal preference! :) Purple is my favorite color!

The pattern is the same one I used to make the baby blanket below, only I did it with the 19 stitches per the pattern and size 7 knitting needles.

I definately recommend these premium colors! They are so much fun to knit with and I personally think this dish cloth pattern comes out beautiful using them!

Here's the link to the yarn: www.peaches-creme.com

I am definately going to have to get at least 2 of every color! They are fabulous!

4 Corners Baby Blanket

Well, here is what I've been working on for awhile (in between dish cloths!).
I used the 4 Corners dishcloth from http://1870pearl.typepad.com/myweblog/gratis-knitting-patterns.html and used size 13 circular knitting needles with 51 stitches to start.
I got the yarn from eBay from a seller's store called "The Spin Zone". She blends her yarn to make the most fabulous textures. You can't really tell from this picture, but this blanket is so soft! I've bought quite a bit of yarn from her, including her shawl kits. I have never been disappointed. This yarn is her baby blanket kit. She has a different pattern which she includes with it. I've made a couple of those, but wanted to try something different, so here it it! It did take a little more yarn than what came in the kit, but I just got another one! I plan to make a neck warmer and scarf from the leftovers.
So, now, I'm off to knit a BIGGER one!

Handy Little Scarf

Well, I had the happy privilage to test knit a scarf for Susan at KnitaLittle. She is such a talented and artistic knitter!

She call's it the Handy Little Scarf and is it ever cute! Very easy and quick to make up. I bet she will be posting it on her site (http://www.knitalittlestore.blogspot.com/) pretty soon!

I thought about getting some sequins and putting them on to look like fingernails. What a fun scarf to have a lot of fun with!

Diagonal Fluffy Brioche Stitch Cloth and some interesting new knitting needles!

This is a really fun stitch that I found in a stitch pattern library. It makes a nice cloth.

DIAGONAL FLUFFY BRIOCHE STITCH CLOTH
Here's a link to the .pdf file:
Size 7 knitting Needles
Worsted Weight Cotton

inc: knit into the front and back of same stitch
sl1: slip 1 stitch
k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

INCREASE HALF

Cast on 3 st.
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: K1, inc, k1
Row 3: knit
Row 4: K1, inc, inc, k1
Row 5: Knit
Row 6: K1, inc, k2, inc, k1
Row 7: Knit
Row 8: K4, yo, knit to end
Row 9: K4, yo, knit to end
Row 10: K4, yo, knit to end
Row 11: K4, yo, k1, yo, sl1, k1, knit to end
Row 12: K4, yo, k1, k2tog (the yo and the slipped stitch), knit to end
Row 13: K4, yo, k1, (yo, sl1, k1) to last 4 sts, knit 4
Row 14: K4, yo, (k1, k2tog) to last 6 st, knit to end

Repeat Rows 13 and 14 until cloth is desired size.

DECREASE HALF

Note: Rows 1 and 2 are the turning corners. I use short rows to make my corners more 'pronounced'

Another thing to mention, is depending on what row you begin your decrease with, your second decrease might be knitting 3 together instead of 2. You should not separate the sl1 and yo....they should always be knit together. I know this sounds complicated, but it is very simple, and once you get the rhythm, it goes very quickly and is a lot of fun to knit.

Row 1: K4, turn, sl1, k3, turn, k3, turn, sl1, k2, turn, k2, turn, sl1, k1, turn, k3, turn, sl1, k2, turn, k4, turn, sl1, k3, turn, k3, k2tog, yo, k2tog, (yo, sl1, k1) to last 4 sts, knit.

Row 2: K4, turn, sl1, k3, turn, k3, turn, sl1, k2, turn, k2, turn, sl1, k1, turn, k3, turn, sl1, k2, turn, k4, turn, sl1, k3, turn, k3, k2tog, yo, k2tog, (k2tog, k1) to last 5 or 6 sts (this will depend on what row you end on before you start decreasing), knit to end.

Row 3: K3, k2tog, yo, k2tog, (yo, sl1, k1) to last 4 sts, knit to end
Row 4: K3, k2tog, yo, k2tog, (k2tog, k1) to last 5 or 6 sts, knit to end

Repeat Rows 3 and 4 until there are 11 sts on needle:

Row 1: k3, K2tog, yo, k2tog, knit to end
Row 2: K3, k2tog, yo, k2tog, knit to end
Row 3: Knit
Row 4: K1, k2tog, k3, k2tog, k1
Row 5: Knit
row 6: K1, k2tog, k1, k2tog, k1
Row 7: Knit
Bind off, knitting last 2 sts tog before binding off.

Now! On to these great needles I found on eBay! They are gauged somewhere between a size 8 and 9 knitting needle, so picture dish cloths would be huge if you used these, but they are really fun to knit with and make a nice 'patterned' cloth. His website is http://www.ketlyo.com/ and his ebay ID is treasuresfromthetree.

These started out as hair sticks, and his wife mentioned that they would be fun to knit with, so he listed them as such on eBay, and, of course, I bought a pair! They are really fun to knit with! Any way, the pictures of the wooden ones and the aqua pearl ones are at the top of this post. They are really beautiful. The first picture is the wooden needles, and the second is a fluffy brioche I'm knitting on the aqua pearls. I couldn't tell you which set I liked better! The ends of each are large enough that my knitting does not fall off, and it takes a little getting used to sliding your work over the 'curls,' but once you do, the yarn slides great.
He is working on making them circular, which would be incredibly awesome. I can't wait!
